Donors Choose

I have posted a project on DonorsChoose.org.  This is a site that allows friends, families, and even strangers who have a special interest in helping teachers donate to classroom projects.  Please check out this project.  I plan to implement it in the spring and would love to have all of the books.  Right now, I only need $96 to fully fund the project because a publishing house has agreed to pay the balance if I get the $96, but it is a  "limited time only" offer.  Help if you can!

Crazy Color Creatures

We spent the week reading Crazy Color Creatures.  We learned to read our color words, identified rhyming words and played "Build the Sentence" with the text of the book.  Today we finished our unit on color by enjoying some delicious purple slurples!  This was a great way to end the week and too cool off after a warm day on the playground.

Beach Day 2010

We are closing out this year is style! Today was Beach Day and the first grade program. I was very proud of all of the first graders. We had such a fun day with the program, yearbooks, and a picnic.

I gave the kids beach balls after our program and let them get their classmates' autographs. They had a ball with them (pardon the pun). I don't have pictures from the program but if I get some from the office, I'll post them. Below you'll see Beach Day pictures.

Here's calm and well-behaved...
Here's what we are REALLY like at this time of year!
